Any time you order a surfboard from JS online, you have a 30-day period from the day of delivery to make sure that board is right for you before use.
As long as the board is in “as new” condition, you can return it to us free of charge and we’ll exchange it! This means completely unridden, no wax, no grip, no dings, no extra stickers etc.
Consider it an extra invitation for whatever JS you order to pass the test once you feel it in person - the crucial under arm assessment of its rails, outline, and anything else you might want to be 100% certain it’s the board for you.
For example, if something’s not quite what you were expecting once received, send it back to us and we’ll exchange it for a different board as soon as your request is in stock.
All you have to do is follow the steps detailed below – “Return Instructions”.
Once the board is waxed up and ready to take out into the ocean, it’s yours, no return.
Please carefully assess your product choice before applying grips, wax, or any other accessories, as we will only accept returns of a board in “as new” condition.
If your JS weapon is purchased through any other outlet, you will need to review that outlet’s return policy as those terms will govern your rights.
Australia & USA - exchanged boards will be sent as soon as possible depending on stock availability. Once in stock, it will ship to you within 3-5 business days!
• Any JS surfboard ordered online in Australia or the USA from jsindustries.com is eligible. All other means of purchase are not.
• This return policy is for a period of 30 days from the date of delivery. If that period has expired since you received your board, unfortunately you can not exchange.
• Incorrectly chosen boards may be exchanged for a different board. If you believe that the board is faulty (before or after use), that is a different question and the board will be assessed by the JS production team as a separate matter. .

Our unparalleled epoxy technology, HYFI, is a unique multi-layer construction that feels like nothing else out there. Think of it as a futuristic exoskeleton for a surfboard that allows it to be lighter and stronger than ever before, while still maintaining the ideal spring-loaded flex for maximum performance. Now, in the last 5 years since it was first released, we’ve taken everything learned to improve each aspect – the performance, flex, speed, materials used and manufacturing processes.
Our Black Baron twin became a global favourite for mixing old school speed alongside new school flair, with enough versatility to let you ride it in weak beachies or quality, down the line points and reefs. Now we’ve created its little brother, the Red Baron, to take the same diverse approach, but added even more float and glide to really excel when other boards struggle.
Essentially, it’s ridden shorter and wider than your Black Baron, with slightly extra width in the tail outline also providing more flow and easy speed generation. Vee is maintained in the bottom contour throughout, like the original Baron, although a touch more double concave in the Red Baron provides drive and helps you project down the line. Ridden approximately 2 inches shorter than the Black Baron, another point of difference lies in the fins – we’ve designed the Red Baron to use a keel fin template, as the high area and depth delivers control and helps maintain incredible speed on rail. Classic keel fins offer maximum drive and hold, making sure you’re able to get creative even at high speeds on a much shorter board.
*Rides 5'2” x 20 1/8” x 2 1/4” = 26.2L
*Rides 5'3 ” x 20 1/2” x 2 5/16” = 28.3L
*Rides 5'3 ” x 20 1/2” x 2 5/16” = 28.3L
*Rides 5'4 ” x 20 3/4” x 2 3/8” = 29.9L
*Rides 5'4 ” x 20 3/4” x 2 3/8” = 29.9L
*Rides 5'5 ” x 20 7/8” x 2 7/16” = 31.3L
*Rides 5'8” x 21 1/4” x 2 5/8” = 35.5L
Red Baron performs best in flatter waves where you're looking to generate your own speed.
Rocker |
An overall low to flat rocker is well suited to create speed and glide in small to average conditions. |
Fin setup |
Red Baron comes stock as a twin fin. We recommend our JS Keel Fin for Future boxes and the FCSII Modern Keel fin for FCSII boxes. |
Glassing specs |
Hyfi 2.0. |
Rail type |
Red Baron has flat low rails as a result of the board's flat deck, hiding volume in the right places for extra float, but also allowing you to turn at high speed. |
Red Baron features a VEE throughout the board from nose to tail with added double concave through the fins. This design helps rock the board from rail to rail with ease.
As seen below, we've compared a 5'6 Black Baron to a 5'4 Red Baron, the 2 inch step down. A fuller nose with a straighter, wider tail.
