Here's everything that goes into building a board at the JS factory on the Gold Coast, with Joel walking through our HQ to check out each stage. It all starts in the office with Jason in design (and subsequent smack talk), then progresses to choosing blanks, cutting, shaping, adding fin plugs, glassing, sanding and spraying. Just before the COVID 19 crisis cancelled trips and events around the world, our Traktor Team gathered for a huge day of R&D at the URBNsurf Melbourne wave pool. The kicker? While we tested boards, Ferrari would be on site for the global launch of an unseen supercar, with the fastest surfboards in the world requested to add some extra X factor to the spectacle.
So, all afternoon in the foreground Ferrari set up the release of their new F8 Spyder, while we 'warmed up' to be the 10 mins of entertainment for that night’s show. Mateus and Dusty blew minds on their HYFIs, Fred and Ramzi did the biggest turns they’d ever seen in the pool, Dingo surfed a twin better than ever, Parko couldn’t get off his new Monsta Box 2020, and Louie only went right to work on his layback tube stance.
