Julian Wilson's Boards for Trestles

Monday, 5 September 2016 2:30:23 pm Australia/Sydney

J-Dub's sitting at number five in the world after his quarterfinals performance at Teahupo'o, and with Lower Trestles right around the corner, followed closely by France and Portugal, he's hit his straps at the perfect time to blow up at a bunch of waves that suit him to a tee. Read More

Finals Day Perfection in Tahiti

Wednesday, 24 August 2016 11:17:21 am Australia/Sydney

Julian, somehow finding his rail on the way to a perfect 10 in the quarters and one of the waves of the entire event! After showing so much commitment throughout the contest, Jules ended up needing five stitches in his chin and getting sliced down his arm - between here and Jbay he's definitely shown that he'll do anything to entertain! Julian Wilson's US Open Boards

Saturday, 23 July 2016 4:19:24 pm Australia/Sydney

Small summer beachies = more HYFIs and even more colour. Sprays courtesty of tiedye enthusiast Adrian Turner. While Julian's magic Monsta 6 that he rode to the semis of the Jbay Open was perfect for the fast, dreamy walls of Supertubes, summertime in California requires a slightly different looking quiver. Read More

What's Julian Riding?

Monday, 11 July 2016 10:28:00 am Australia/Sydney

J-Dub blasting a lofty slob-grab on a fresh Monsta 6 during a warmup - confidence, sky high. Photo Ryan Miller Whether it was laying down huge turns and finding tubes in the earlier rounds, or landing some solid airs on his way to the quarterfinals, Julian's gone from strength to strength so far in Jbay. Regardless of the conditions, Jules' versatility so far has been ridiculous - even a close encounter with the infamous "bricks" after committing to the end section against Parko didn't interrupt his run of heat wins! Read More

Julian At Home

Tuesday, 14 June 2016 10:53:29 am Australia/Sydney

Step ups aren't only for getting tubed! Photo Jo Brebner How often is a consolation prize better than the main trophy? Obviously, Julian wouldn't mind still being in Fiji enduring lay day after lay day and getting his hair shaved by Parko or Taj, but bailing from 8 days straight of cabin fever to score the best east coast swell of the year has got to feel pretty damn good! Read More

J-Dub, getting ready to unleash on Arpoador's super rippable lefts. Photo Ryan Miller 2016's edition of the Oi Rio Pro starts in a red hot minute, and all of our team in Brazil have been doing laps around the contest zone to acclimatise to Rio's high performance peaks. Read More

Julian Finals At Margaret River

Monday, 18 April 2016 3:31:22 pm Australia/Sydney

Julian tore apart the Main Break rights all week with the type of fluid power that barely anyone could match. Photo Trevor Moran Margaret River delivered in a massive way over the last two weeks - with anywhere between decent and pumping surf being served up at Main Break for the contest, and even the lay days providing plenty of other options up and down the coast. Julian revels in this kind of variety more than most, and was on the hunt every day to stay sharp, test boards and nail clips. Read More

More Freesurfing In The South West

Friday, 15 April 2016 3:41:01 pm Australia/Sydney

J-Dub, kicking the tail on a down day. Julian rides the new Monsta 6 in a 6'0 1/2" x 18 3/4" x 2 3/8" x 28L. Photo Trevor Moran With world-class wineries, chocolate factories and plenty of other hidden gems (plus dozens of quality surf spots that turn on when Main Break is no good), lay days are a bit of a blessing around Margaret River. Throughout this week plenty of the Traktor Team have been exploring the region, and whether they're waiting for the CT showdown on the weekend or not, it looks like it's more than paid off for everyone. Freesurfing gold and board specs, below: Read More

Julian Wilson On Fire

Saturday, 9 April 2016 12:52:51 pm Australia/Sydney

After a huge 2015 including three finals appearances at banner events (Snapper, Fiji & JBay), and getting engaged in France, Julian's been building consistently so far this year. Read More

Julian Wilson's STAB Caddy

Monday, 8 February 2016 12:16:17 pm Australia/Sydney

Indonesia, and Bali in particular, is a surfer’s playground unlike anywhere else. World-class surf spots every few kays, and sometimes, around everywhere corner. Options galore to test boards, test yourself, and surf just about every type of wave you could ever want. So, when Julian decided to spend a good chunk of his time off last season on the Island of the Gods, he not only managed to come up with one of the best edits of the entire year, but also tested a bunch of his favourite models in HYFI. In this edition of the brilliant STAB Caddy, presented by our friends at FCS, we’re allowed an extra bit of insight from Jules into what he’s been riding, and what he thinks about the new tech. Board essentials below: MONSTA 3 - 5'11" x 18 7/8" x 2 3/8" (approx. 27L)
