All Kinds of Pumping, from North Point to Main Break

Owen, under the ledge on one of the heaviest barrels of opening day. From the yellow jersey to the classic no-grab tube stance, this shot is a great marker of where O's at right now - right back in his element. Photo Trevor Moran

With a few of his best waves in round one shutting down right at the last second, O blew up on his backhand to smash round two and keep the roll going. After choosing a 6'4 1/2" x 19" x 2 3/8" x 29.7L Forget Me Not round pin at North Point (above), Owen chose a 6'8" x 19" x 2 3/8" x 31.1L Step Up to tackle the bigger, windier walls of Main Break on day two (he's 6'3" / 76kg). Fingers crossed we'll see some heats at The Box to complete our WA trifecta! Photo Trevor Moran

Ace's been putting his finely-tuned backhand to work all over the southwest, and after a tight battle with Fred in round two, he's through to round three. At 5'9" / 76kg, he rides a step up Forget Me Not round pin - 6'4" x 18 5/8" x 2 3/8" x 28.2L. Photo Trevor Moran

In WA, it's all about big fins and rounded pins. One of Ace's go-to templates is our FCS thruster set in large for a great mix of drive and flow between turns. Photo Ryan Miller

Fred's been absolutely flairing, but will now have to focus on putting all that power (and a lot of new step-ups) to use at Bells. At 6'1" / 81kg, he rides a 6'2 1/2" x 18 7/8" x 2 3/8" x 28.5L Forget Me Not round pin. Photo Trevor Moran

Frontside or backside, Jeremy's a freak in the barrel. After locking into easily the best wave of his heat at North Point, Jezza scored a well-earned day off, after which we'll hopefully see him line up for round three at The Box. Photo Trevor Moran

Having so many good waves on offer, Jezza kept plenty of Monsta 6 and Forget Me Not round pins on hand to choose from, with one of his go-to sizes being a FMN 6'0" x 18 1/4" x 2 5/16" x 25.5L (he's 5'9" / 68kg). Photo Ryan Miller

While Joel found a few tubes in a super slow round one heat, he had to completely switch mindsets (and boards) overnight to get through round two at big Main Break. Photo Trevor Moran

After using a 6'4" Forget Me Not at North Point on opening day, Joel chose a 6'6" Step Up to take apart a few solid, windy rights on his way to round three, with a 6'8" in backup. At 6'0" / 83kg, he rides a 6'6" x 18 7/8" x 2 7/16" x 30.5L. Photo Ryan Miller

Joel, swooping on a roundhouse covering so much distance that the rebound looks like Main Break lefts. Every inch of that 6'6" came in handy this heat! Photo Ryan Miller

While Julian's heat at North Point was yet another half hour characterised by long lulls, it definitely had its moments. Here's J-Dub swooping on the inside ledge, riding one of his Snapper favourites - a 6'0 1/2" x 18 3/4" x 2 3/8" x 28L Monsta 6 (he's 6'0" / 80kg). Photo Trevor Moran

With plenty of bigger boards waiting in the wings for Main Break, Jules mostly kept his favourite shortboards on hand for North Point, all geared with his signature FCS template in large. Photo Ryan Miller
