Jordy has rocked up on the North Shore with a stack of women in his board bag. The kid decided to follow in Slaters steps and draw some ladies on his stack of JS's... Classic!!

Hawaii 2009

Little Red Welcome Back from Billabong on Vimeo.

Well here we are in Hawaii for the last stop on the tour. The media hyped showdown between Parko and Mick is about to unfold, but the feeling between the two mates is quite relaxed and casual. Parko's ankle is 100% and he is feeling good about his surfing, much like he did at the start of the year. Parko arrived and had to go for a surf straight away to wash off the hours of travel on a plane. He grabbed little red away he went.

Check out the view from the kitchen, right on the beach. Also note the shot of Andy trying to steal little red right out of Parko's hands.

There is a good vibe here at the moment... So all we need is some swell to kick things off with.

Andrew Doheny Makes The PacSun Surfing America U.S. Team

Friday, August 21, 2009

Huntington Beach, California (August 30, 2009) -  Andrew Doheny, from Newport Beach CA and notably one of the best 16 year old surfers in North America, was chosen by Ian Carins and Surfing America to be one of 5 to represent the US in the under boys 18 division. From here, the chosen 5 will battle it out to see who will represent and surf for the U.S. in the Quiksilver ISA World Junior Surfing Championships to be held in late January 2010 in New Zealand.

Andrew had this to say about making the team, "Super stoked. I am feeling really excited to be a part of the PacSun Surfing America U.S. Team. I have a feeling that this is going to be our year."

Andrew is currently rated #4 on the ASP North America Pro Junior tour.

LUKE EGAN SETS BALI ALIGHT

Friday, August 21, 2009

Amongst all the crowds and commotion in Bali currently, there has been some great swell about. One surfer who has been capitalising on this is Luke Egan. Whispers are spreading through the camp that Luke has been blazing in the water and is setting the place alight. Quite a few comments have been coming from other surfers in the lineup saying that he is 'hands down' the best surfer out there, and should be back on tour the way he has been surfing. We are pretty sure that Luke is quite comfortable in his retirement, particularly being able to spend weeks on end in Bali in between his coaching duties with Parko. But it is safe to say that Luke is still surfing well, and we are sure that he is enjoying it as much as he ever has. Here are a few pics of Luke in action.

See you when you get back Luke!

Andrew Doheny wins Orange County Rising Star of the Year

Friday, August 14, 2009

JS Industries super grom Andrew Doheny has just taken out the OC Rising Star of the Year. Hundreds of thousands of votes were cast during the contest, which started May 27 and ended July 9, Thursday at midnight. This year's contest was expanded beyond just shortboarders, with additional segments for local longboarders, rising star males and rising star females.

RISING STAR MALE:
Andrew Doheny: The Newport Beach local caught the eye of many in the industry years ago at a very young age and continues on a path to greatness. He can be found at 54th street or Lowers. In the June issue of Transworld Surf magazine, he was named one of 15 surfers to watch in 2009. "Judges have rewarded Andrew's ability to mix rail gouging with above-the-lip trickery," reads the feature article. Known as Droid, or Doho, his sponsors are Volcom, Vans and JS industries. A special nod goes to fellow Newport surfer Chase Wilson, who kept the fight strong against Doheny during the contest.
